The Singapore National Anthem
Written on Aug 06 08 // Info.
This is my response to some guy who called 93.8FM and asked for the National Anthem to be changed. I don’t know what your reasons are but if it’s “dont understand” or “cannot remember” , then I hope this will help you, and all new immigrants who have recently gotten their citizenship. It is my considered opinion that our National Anthem is a showcase of our racial harmony. It is also appropriate because of our geographical location. Just take a look at the map if you don’t understand. We are right smacked in the Malay Archipelago. [map]

Originals are found here. Attached also is a screen shot of the anthem’s translation in Tamil, since I don’t know how to type in Tamil:

I remember singing the Singapore National Anthem in a small auditorium, singing proudly and very excited.
It’s been 14 years.

The Tali-PAP needs more immigrants like you to keep them in power.

I suspect the narrow-minded individual who called for it to be changed is probably a new immigrant. Which has always been my point against granting citizenship so freely…
How do we give citizenship to people who are oblivious to our racial and cultural sensitivities or even our traditions?
